Built in our workshop
No mud, no neighbours moaning. We finish 90% of the work off-site, then deliver in a single day.
Bespoke container conversions · UK
We turn shipping containers into beautiful, livable spaces — garden studios, holiday lets, granny annexes and off-grid retreats. Built to last, delivered ready to plug in.
Why containers
Shipping containers are over-engineered for the high seas, which makes them remarkably good homes once you know what you're doing. We strip, insulate and finish each unit by hand in our workshop — so by the time it arrives on your plot, it's a finished space, not a building site.
Faster than a brick extension. Cheaper than a self-build. And quietly extraordinary once it's yours.
No mud, no neighbours moaning. We finish 90% of the work off-site, then deliver in a single day.
Closed-cell spray foam and rigid board — warm in winter, cool in summer. None of the cold-steel cliché.
Hook up to your house, or specify solar, rainwater capture and a composting loo. Your land, your rules.
Most of our builds sit within permitted development. We'll guide you through if planning is needed.
The process
Tell us what you're after. Studio, annexe, glampsite cabin? We'll talk size, site access and budget — no charge, no hard sell.
You get a layout drawing and a fixed price against one of our three packages. Tweak until it's right.
We source the container and start the conversion in our workshop. Photo updates every fortnight.
Crane on, level up, hook up. Most installs are done before tea-time.
Two-year workmanship guarantee, plus we're at the end of the phone whenever you need us.
Packages
Pick a tier as your starting point — every conversion is finished to your spec. Prices below are for a 20ft conversion. 40ft builds available on request.
From £20,000
A proper, livable space without the frills. Honest materials, sensible spec, money where it matters.
From £30,000
Where most of our customers land. UPVC French doors, a kitchen you'd actually want to cook in, and a bathroom that feels properly grown up.
From £45,000
Aluminium glazing, quartz worktops, an LVT floor under your bare feet. A proper home, in a steel box you'd never know was a steel box.
Prices are guideline starting points based on a 20ft conversion. Site visit, delivery, groundworks and connection to mains services are quoted separately based on your plot. We'll always give you a fixed price before you commit.

A few of our most recent conversions. We add new builds here as they leave the workshop.
"They turned a 20ft container into the nicest room in our house. Quote was honest, build was tidy, install was done in a morning. We've already had three neighbours ask for their number."

FAQ
Often, no. Most of our garden builds fit within permitted development rules — under 2.5m high near a boundary, no more than half the garden covered, that sort of thing. We'll walk you through it during the design stage and tell you straight if you'll need an application.
From signing the quote to your container being craned into place, count on 8–12 weeks for Bronze and Silver, and 12–16 weeks for Gold or anything bespoke. Workshop builds are largely weather-proof so we don't lose weeks to rain.
We need a clear path roughly 4m wide and a crane standing area. We'll do a site visit before quoting to make sure delivery is straightforward — and if it isn't, we'll tell you what it'll take.
Genuinely yes. We use closed-cell spray foam plus rigid PIR board, so a 20ft unit is comfortable on a small electric heater even in January. Add a log burner on the Gold spec and you'll be opening the windows.
Yes — that's part of the appeal. With a fresh crane and a flatbed it can go to a new plot. Just don't expect to do it every weekend.
We do. A 40ft gives you roughly 28m² and opens up two-bedroom layouts. Pricing scales above the figures listed — get in touch for a tailored quote.
